I am an unabashed muralist and painting on a blank wall brings me back to my childhood of trying to generate something exciting on the blank pages of my school notebooks. Perhaps every painting no matter how big or small starts from this feeling. I cherish the sanction to imagine and execute ideas in public space made for anyone who passes by. I fell in love with murals ever since I started painting them as a volunteer in Los Angeles during my undergraduate days at the University of Southern California. I am not a full-time muralist but when I have the time and an opportunity arises I will jump into a project. In every city I go to I almost always discover new murals and pictures on walls and I feel both thrilled and fortunate. Whenever I see a blank wall I think about the mural that should be there. Muralists are a special group of artists who cherish public space and the public and I am proud to be in this fellowship.
